Sandy ran a decision-making and behaviour workshop for the SPEAR17 team ahead of our 1,100-mile unsupported crossing of Antarctica. Despite having 30 years of experience leading soldiers in high-conflict operations, I improved how I led and made decisions as a direct result of this session. Our team, though lacking Polar experience, successfully crossed Antarctica. I was later awarded an MBE for leadership and went on to complete the 1,000-mile solo Spirit of Endurance expedition — achievements influenced by the skills I gained working with Sandy.
